Street Fighter Combo

Another keepsake that I'd like to study how they directed this nice little piece. I'm pretty sure they copied it from the actual game but it's so well done. Even if it's copied to bring it from the video game to real life is a difficult task.

Another DIY Merlin Steadicam Demonstration

Not sure how he built his steadicam but the results of him jiggling the camera back and forth in the mirror is mesmerizing to say the least. Only a camera that is perfectly balanced will behave in the manner you're about to see in the video below. Just another thumbs up to the Merlin Steadicam system.

Dog Eyes Cheapest DIY Steadicam

Cheapest DIY steadicam where the camera is held steady by a series of string.  Kind of like a puppet or marionette.  I can say the results are amazing if you're trying to shoot for really low shots.

Just an idea of how to make a softbox

These are just some examples I mocked up in sketchup to see how I can make a nice softbox.  If you look closely you'll notice my design can switch from a strip box to a octobox by swapping out the back.

Steadicam Merlin Demonstration

Just blew my mind, when he started jumping, how stable the video was. I think this guy is in Toronto since his name says GTA in it. Too bad he through up some text when he was running cause it looks sweet how stable the run was. Just another example of how cool the merlin is but for $800+. I think there's got to be a better alternative.

Hidden Room Behind Book Case - Interior Design

It's also cat friendly. Looks pretty easy to do as long as you use several hinges to hold it up.

Japanese Cube or Capsule Hotels

What I love about minimalistic design is that it's clean and gets straight to the point. Fancy designs don't do it for me. I find it's always a waste of space when using excessive curves and you lose out on functionality.

The designs you're about to see are simply stunning.

Visa Small Business & Security - Banner Ads

Here's a funny story that happened with this project. I got a call from the guys at Leo Burnett/Arc World Wide mid afternoon on a Thursday and as usual I never turn down a project unless I'm totally booked. I went out to a pub with a bunch of co-workers from Mindblossom that night and got totally smashed.

I woke up in my room half naked with half my body on the bed. It's almost 8am and I'm half way out the door before my phone rings. Client is asking me where the banners are and I tell them I'll have it to them in 2 hours.

I rush back into the house and boot up my computer. Earlier that week my 17" monitor blew so I only had an old CRT 14" to work with. Long story short I completed the ads in 2 hours while hung over and sent it to the client. I sent over the bill for the work as well and the client had to call me back to confirm if I had the right amount of hours. I replied "Yes, it took me 2 hours."

To me when I agree to a project it's like making a blood pact and no matter what happens I will get the job done.

Good news is that I stopped drinking.
